First Generation: John Frederick Quarfoth was born November 1, 1818 in Sweden. He married Christine Kraans, born September 7, 1822, also in Sweden. Sometime after 1885, they migrated to the United States. John died November 19, 1889 and Christine died February 25, 1890, both in St. Paul, Minnesota. Second Generation: 1. Hannah Quarfoth 2. Mary Quarfoth 3. Ida Quarfoth 4. John Peter Quarfoth was born in December ?, in Sweden and died December 21, 1926. 5. Oscar Frederic Quarfoth was born October 16, 1863 in Grangisberg, Sweden. He married Marien Christina Olson, born Aaugust 3, 1855 in Moi Helgland, Norway. They were married June 7, 1885. 6. Alfred Carl Quarfoth was born September 7, 1885 in Sweden. He married Anna Charlotte, born June11, 1865. They had 9 children. Lillie Christine, Gust Alfred, Ellen Olga, Theodore Roy, Ben Oscar, Emelia Anna, Minnie Marie born May 22, 1886, Charles John born April 4, 1890, Hilma Elizabeth born November 4 1890. Third Generation: Oscar Frederic Quarfoth was born October 16, 1863 in Grangisberg, Sweden. He married Marien Christina Olson, born August 3, 1855 in Moi Helgland, Norway. They were married June 7, 1885. They had two children, both born after Oscar and Marien migrated to the United States. Oscar died of an appendicitis, October 30, 1887 in Newport, Door County, Wisconsin. At the Wagon Trail Resort in Ellison Bay, there is a plat map of Door County produced about the turn of the last century and it shows the Quarfoth's property. 1. Emma Christine Quarfoth was born May 26, 1886 in Newport, Wisconsin. She married Hugo Robert Erickson, born August 25, 1884. They were married January 1, 1909 in Liberty Grove, Wisconsin. They had 7 children. Emma died February 4, 1964 in Oceanside, California. (There is much more to tell about Emma and Hugo. I will update this as soon as I can after the holidays.) 2. Oscar Frederick Manded Quarfoth was born February 7, 1888 in Newport, Wisconsin. He and his wife, Paulene had two children; Mary Katherine and Antoinette. After his marriage to Paulene, Oscar changed the spelling of his last name to Quarforth. |
